This month we’re delighted to welcome two guests who are dedicated to spotlighting inspirational women from our past.

To kick off the evening, June Edgar will be talking to Zoe Johnstone – the progenitor of the fantastic travelling mural featuring 100 inspiring women, originally installed at Edinburgh Central Library. The incredible 8-foot mural will not be with us on the night (we’d have no room for guests!) but there will be plenty of opportunities to highlight some individuals featured and how this community project gathered the voices of many to nominate and depict this diverse and motivating piece.
We are also thrilled to have celebrated author, Sara Sheridan with us. Sara is forthright and passionate when it comes to promoting the often unsung but influential women of the past in her writing. Her book ‘Where are the Women?’ influenced the creation of the aforementioned mural by re-imagining Scottish heralds such as statues and street names commemorating deserving women instead of men.
It's shaping up to be a wonderful evening celebrating the achievements of women past and present. We look forward to seeing you there!

Tickets are available from Eventbrite – please state which ticket type you require as numbers will be limited. We will send a zoom invitation to all attendees anyway.
As usual, we’ll be at the Outhouse – but for those who can’t be with us in person, we’ll be live-streaming the ‘formal’ section of the evening from 7pm, so everyone can participate. There will be a wine reception, and plenty of time before the presentation begins. We will open the Zoom at 6.45pm and will welcome our guests at 7pm. Online attendees are welcome to hang around in the zoom for more informal chatter, which we can monitor.
All Salon Events are free. We invite a small donation (£3) for the glass of wine, or encourage people to buy us a coffee to help fund our work.
