For our Festive Salon we’ll have Readings, Refreshments, and Entertainment – plus the chance to Buy all your Books at Argonaut!
What better way to end the Literary Year than a trip to one of our favourite bookshops – Argonaut Books. To make use of the mistletoe, we’re going to KISS – yes, that means Keep It Simple, Stupid! There will be a bit of mingling, some readings, hopefully including some from our fabulous anthology, The Golden Hours, and a few other crackers as well.
After the usual drinks reception from 6.30, we’ll livestream the entertainment on Zoom at 7pm, lasting around 75 minutes. For those attending in-person we have a limited number of slots for readers, on a first-come basis. If you wish to read (six minutes only!) book a ‘Reader’ ticket and we’ll pop you on the list or, if over-subscribed, the waiting list. We’ll be in touch with confirmation and details after the 9th of December
Out hosts at Argonaut have allowed us to stay until 9pm, after which it’s likely some may wish to re-convene in a local hostelry, as is our usual custom!

Tickets are available from Eventbrite from 1st December. Places for the in-person event are limited, but we encourage those who cannot attend in person to join us on zoom.
It is free to register for all of our events. We invite donations for the glass of wine, or encourage people to buy us a coffee to help fund our work. If you can’t afford to donate, you are still welcome. Our two anthologies are on sale here, and books will be available to purchase on the night. We look forward to seeing you in person or in the zoom-room.

Edinburgh Literary Salon is open to all those with an interest in all aspects of Literature, whether professional or personal, and to all parts of the industry: writers, publishers, booksellers etc. All are welcome, and events have free registration. We strive to ensure straightforward registration. We intend to livestream this event; if there is a problem accessing zoom, we will do what we can to assist. Argonaut Books is an accessible venue, with close access to bus and tram stops. We invite positive feedback on how we can improve, even within our limitations as a non-funded organisation. We welcome open conversation.
