We are the Edinburgh Literary Salon.
Based in Scotland's vibrant and historical capital city, we stage a free and inclusive monthly event that is dedicated to supporting the literary community. Our aim is to help maintain a healthy and dynamic literary arts community in Edinburgh and the wider country of Scotland.
By encouraging discussion, connection, and collaboration between creative people, the Salon provides a meeting point for those in the literary industries, from Edinburgh and beyond – to gather, socialise and exchange ideas and information. We are a completely voluntary organisation that operates on donations and without regular funding – the Salon is maintained by the passion of our members and our Steering Group. We aim to form and maintain connections to other literary organisations and alert our members to relevant information and opportunities.

Our events
A Monthly Gathering of Creative Minds
Salon events generally occur on the last Tuesday of every calendar month, and currently take place in The Outhouse in Edinburgh's New Town. We offer a hybrid format, so you can also attend online via Zoom.
Come along to meet fellow members of the literary community, hear from writers, publishers and other industry professionals, and perhaps make a few connections of your own.

Anthologies & Projects
An Inspiring Collection
We have always been passionate about sharing the talent of our literary city. Besides our monthly events, we also engage in producing printed work.
Our first anthology, Lost, Looking & Found, was an incredible project, bringing together both emerging and established writers from Edinburgh and beyond. The book was a remarkable celebration of different genres and voices, all centred around the theme of 'Renaissance.'
In 2023, we will be releasing our second anthology, titled The Golden Hours. Follow us on our social media channels for further updates and reveals leading up to our launch...
